Volunteer Disclaimer & Waiver of Liability
Greene County Partnership – Community Volunteer Opportunities
By submitting an application to volunteer through opportunities collected from the community and posted by Jessie Beth Miller, Director of Community Engagement for the Greene County Partnership, I acknowledge and agree to the following:
1. Role of Greene County Partnership
I understand that the Greene County Partnership serves solely as a connector and information-sharing entity, posting volunteer opportunities submitted by independent community organizations, groups, and individuals. The Greene County Partnership does not sponsor, supervise, manage, or control volunteer activities unless explicitly stated.
2. Voluntary Participation
My participation as a volunteer is entirely voluntary. I am not an employee, agent, or representative of the Greene County Partnership, Jessie Beth Miller, or the hosting organization. I understand that I will not receive compensation, benefits, or insurance coverage of any kind.
3. Assumption of Risk
I acknowledge that volunteering may involve risks, including but not limited to physical injury, illness, property damage, or other unforeseen hazards. I knowingly and voluntarily assume all risks associated with my participation.
4. Release and Waiver of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, I hereby release, waive, and discharge the Greene County Partnership, Jessie Beth Miller, its board members, employees, partners, and affiliates from any and all claims, demands, damages, losses, or liabilities arising out of or related to my participation in any volunteer activity posted through this application process.
5. Responsibility for Conduct and Safety
I understand that I am responsible for my own conduct and safety during volunteer activities and agree to follow all rules, guidelines, and instructions provided by the hosting organization.
6. Independent Organizations
I acknowledge that each volunteer opportunity is managed by an independent organization, and that any questions, requirements, background checks, training, supervision, or liability coverage are the responsibility of that organization—not the Greene County Partnership.
7. Indemnification
I agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Greene County Partnership and Jessie Beth Miller from any claims or liabilities arising from my actions or omissions while volunteering.
8. Media Release (Optional)
I understand that photographs or videos may be taken during volunteer activities. Unless I notify the Greene County Partnership in writing, I grant permission for my likeness to be used for promotional or informational purposes without compensation.
9. Governing Law
This waiver shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the State of Tennessee.
10. Acknowledgment
By submitting this application, I confirm that I am at least 18 years of age and that I have read, understand, and voluntarily agree to this Disclaimer and Waiver of Liability.

For Minor Volunteers (Under 18)
Parental/Guardian Consent Required
I am the parent or legal guardian of the minor named below. I give my permission and consent for my child to participate in volunteer activities posted through the Greene County Partnership. I acknowledge and accept the risks involved and agree to all terms of this Disclaimer, Waiver of Liability, and Release on behalf of myself and my child.
I certify that the information provided is accurate and that I have the legal authority to sign on behalf of the minor.
